Samafal Families Association Ltd was established in January 2008 as limited institution, which runs a bespoke services for BAME women focusing on advice and guidance, employment and adult education. Samafal Families Association (SFA) has been established to support BAME women and their families to overcome barriers and integrate widely into other communities. Samafal is set up to identify the needs of disadvantage communities to by coming together under one umbrella, share experience and access lifelong skills training and to improve their quality of life. We are service user lead organisation and ensure that clients to inform us their needs and know that their suggestions will be taken into account to improve the quality of the service that we deliver. Samafal delivers community adult education and employment in Enfield and Haringey and greater London.

Samafal Families Association delivers services in areas that have high levels of deprivation & unemployment focusing on BAME women with low skills in north London. The organisation offers practical support to single mothers with large size families who do not engage in education or training due to language barriers and affordable childcare services to enter the job market. Samafal provides free employment skills training, Skills for life English and Maths , Childcare courses, Health and Social Care course and free creche facilities

Samafal Community college is funded by Barnet and Southgate College to deliver Adult learning Community courses that would upskill individuals to progress further training or gain employment.

Samafal provided learning opportunities for women on their Childcare course particularly targeting those unemployed and in Black and Minority Ethnic African groups which accounts for over four percent of Enfield’s population.

Current Campaigns

Samafal works in partnership with North London jobcentres to focus on customers in receipt of welfare benefits such as Universal Credit, lone parents, Carers , Benefit Cap and those with long term unemployment. Samafal has set up a bespoke service for the customers so that they can access employment, training or self employment.

Volunteering
50 people volunteered to improve their employability as part of our work with DWP.  We had receptionist, Admin, Sales, Customer services, Teaching assistance, childcare workers, outreach worker and Care worker.
Employability
Samafal is contracted by Department of Work and Pension to support BAME customers into employment and training. We have delivered 12 contracts where we had 900 customers into training and employment. 450 customers…
